Rear Suspension Story
Back in 2008 when I decided to build a new Z I originally began with the idea that I would simply start with a clean Z body and simply build something more robust than my current Z. One of the issues I wanted to solve for is the fragile and clunky rear drivetrain of the Z. That implied also a new suspension. I explored just about every option and eventually landed on a custom solution from Dave Held at a company called Team321 (http://www.team321.com) . They were willing to design to my very raw early specifications. Dave Held, the owner was very helpful in designing what I needed. For the look of it, I chose a cantilever based design that placed the coilovers horizontally in the rear deck. The diff is an easily sourced Ford 8.8. The rest is custom fabricated by Team321.
